The Queens Award for Voluntary Service
Manchester Imagination Library receives the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services
Manchester Imagination Library is one of 241 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award this year. The number of nominations remains high year on year, showing that the voluntary sector is thriving and full of innovative ideas to make life better for those around them.
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups to benefit their local communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate The Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Recipients are announced each year on 2nd June, the anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation.
Representatives of Manchester Imagination Library received the crystal award and certificate from Judith Bromley BA, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire in September.
‘Manchester Imagination Library is a truly inspirational organisation that achieves and provides so much for so little cost, to enrich children’s and their families lives at such a critical stage. That deserve the recognition that a QUEENS AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE gives them and I have been delighted to work with them in this award.’ Judith Bromley BA, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire.
Furthermore two volunteers from Manchester Imagination Library will attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May 2022 along with other recipients of this year’s Award.

What Manchester Imagination Library think about getting the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service?
We are overwhelmed to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which reflects on the work carried out by the volunteers of the project. Most importantly though is that we have received this award on behalf of the families who have benefitted from this project and we will carry on applying for funds and working with partners to enable the project to reach ALL children aged under 5 years across Manchester.
